In 2024, Cameroon hosted major economic events and fairs.

In Detail ,The 8th edition of the International Handicrafts Fair of Cameroon (SIARC) took place from July 22 to 31, 2024. The main objective of this event was to promote, market and train Cameroonian artisans, while introducing them to the opportunities offered by digital technology to develop their sector.The Cameroonian government has emphasized the importance of digital transformation for the country's development, particularly within the framework of the national development strategy 2020-2030. The modernization of the handicrafts sector through information and communication technologies (ICTs) is considered a key axis for achieving this goal.

This flagship event in the handicrafts sector was held under the theme "Digital Technology as a Factor for Sustainable Development of the Handicrafts Sector and Global Inclusion of Artisans".

In the same context as the International Handicrafts Fair of Cameroon, Cameroon hosted other major events: the International Fair for Enterprise, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Partnership of Yaounde, and the Fair for Economic Actors and Local Development(Promote),The Government Action Fair (SAGO),The 2024 edition brought together public, parapublic and private sector companies to create a B2B exchange atmosphere, to take stock of the progress of infrastructure projects and to find solutions to boost these projects planned under the National Development Strategy (SND 30) for structural transformation and inclusive development.

The 2024 Cacao and Coffee Festival went beyond a typical trade fair, highlighting the wealth and diversity of our cocoa and coffee regions, as well as the creativity of our artisans and manufacturers. Cocoa is one of our most exported products, renowned globally for its exceptional taste and texture.

The 15th edition of the Annual Central African Cross-Border Fair aims to boost trade exchanges and promote socio-economic development within the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), in the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).Under the theme "Enhancing Trade, Fostering Dialogue and Cross-Border Cooperation for Socio-Economic and Cultural Development in Africa".The 2024 Cross-Border Fair sought to remove tariff and non-tariff barriers to boost intra-African trade.

The National Fair for Women's Entrepreneurship, held under the theme of its first edition in 2024, "Important Substitution in the Face of the Challenges of Structural Transformation of the Cameroonian Economy".This initiative aimed to promote the role of women in Cameroon's economic fabric, already accounting for over 30% of businesses, to increase women's involvement in the productive sector.

The 2024 Artisanat and Education Fair was an opportunity to raise awareness among the population about the promotion of civic values of peace and living together, while promoting the successful socio-professional and economic integration of young people through the promotion of work values and entrepreneurial culture.Under the theme "Patriotic, Peaceful and Entrepreneurial Youth for Africa's Unity and Prosperity", the 4th edition of this event highlighted key themes, including supporting students in university-based business incubators and providing financial backing for student researchers.

These economic events, fairs, and trade exchanges organized in Cameroon aim to create a favorable business environment and stimulate expertise exchanges between various economic actors and investors.
