The visit of the new Ambassador of Ivory Coast to Cameroon marked an important step in strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Indeed, Ivory Coast and Cameroon share a long history of brotherhood and cooperation based on common values of solidarity, peace, and prosperity. This visit aims to intensify trade exchanges and explore new opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries, which have immense economic potential, particularly in the agricultural and commercial sectors. The new Ambassador is determined to strengthen ties between the two countries and promote economic and trade cooperation. Ivory coast and Cameroon are already linked by cooperation agreements in political, diplomatic, economic, and technical fields. This visit is an important step in strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Ivory Coast and Cameroon, opening up new perspectives for trade exchanges and economic cooperation between the two countries. However, the Cameroonian statistician notes that Ivory Coast does not appear on the list of Cameroon's top 10 African customers, although in 2022, Côte d'Ivoire ranked 10th among buyers of Cameroonian goods.

In 2023, Ivory Coast emerged as Cameroon's leading African supplier, with more than 80000 tonnes of goods exported to Cameroon, valued at 75.9 billion CFA francs.Alassane Dramane Ouattara's country, accounted for 1,5% of Cameroon's import market share from other African countries. In a context where exports from other African countries to Cameroon accounted for only 7.9% in 2023, while the rest of the world accounted for 92.3%, it is essential for both countries to find solutions to stimulate their trade exchanges. This proportion remains very low compared to a country like China, which dominated global imports with a 19% share in 2023.It is therefore essential to find solutions to strengthen economic ties between the two countries and promote economic and trade cooperation. This could include the implementation of economic cooperation programs, the intensification of trade exchanges, and the promotion of mutual investments.Ivory Coast's exports are mainly driven by cocoa, gold, petroleum products, natural rubber, and cashew nuts, according to customs data.
