The document mainly highlights a reorganization of the rates of the said tax.The tree felling tax is reduced from 0.5% as of January 1, 2025, from 3% to 2.5% of the taxable value of the harvested timber species.This tax is maintained at 3% for forestry companies with other forms of certification, while it is revised upwards for non-certified companies.For this category of tree felling, the rate goes from 4% previously to 5% as of January 1, 2025.This initiative involves maintaining a definition of sustainability without unacceptable deterioration of the productive capacity and renewal, as well as the ecological diversity and variability of forest ecosystems", according to an article published on the FAO(Food and Agriculture Organization)website.
