According to the 2025 Finance Bill , submitted by the government to the deputies for review on December 1st,2024 ,the envelope would be reduced to only 15 billion CFA francs, revealing a decrease of nearly 250 billion CFA francs compared to 2024.The upcoming increase would therefore be the third in a span of 3 years.This government ambition, makes it increasingly plausible that there will be a new increase in fuel prices at the pump in the country as early as the beginning of 2025.The magnitude of the subsidy reduction planned for 2025 suggests that the projected price increase could exceed 15% for the year 2025.The decision to increase fuel prices at the pump over the past two years has allowed the state to considerably relieve the financial burden of petroleum product subsidies on public finances.
