Infrastructural Development: The Ministry of Public Works Provides Update On Maintenance Work On The Bafang-Nkondjock Road.

The maintenance work on the Bafang -Nkondjock road, phased into three stages, is ongoing. On a global scale, according to an information note from the Ministry of Public Works, the ongoing work stretches to kilometer point 52+500 and concerns drainage work, roadwork, and the construction of structures.

The ongoing maintenance work on the Bafang -Nkondjock road is progressing on the ground. The current work involves, in particular, the construction of masonry ditches at several points, including kilometer points 5+800 and 0+600, the construction of culverts, and the reprofiling of the road surface, among others.On a global scale, between kilometer points 28+000 and 38+500, several works related to structures are underway, including a bridge deck and four bus passages. In the work schedule, reprofiling of the road surface is planned from kilometer point 25+00 to Nkondjock. From kilometer point 48+000 to kilometer point 52+500, three culverts and three bus passages are being executed before the road surface treatment that will follow.The maintenance work on the Bafang -Nkondjock road, which stretches over 53.3 km between the Littoral and West regions, was awarded to CETP Sarl for an amount of 4.9 billion FCFA TTC. The work, scheduled to be executed over 36 months, divided into three phases of 12 months, consists of asphalt coating of steep slopes, stabilization of landslide and pothole areas, and routine and periodic maintenance with stabilizing products for the rest of the earthworks.The phase 1 work is estimated to be 58.03% complete at the beginning of October. This rehabilitation project of the Nkondjock-Bafang road is an important step in improving road infrastructure in Cameroon. It will contribute to facilitating the movement of people and goods between the Littoral and West regions, thus promoting the economic and social development of these regions. The social and economic infrastructure that will be built along the road testifies to the government's commitment to improving the living conditions of local populations.
