The initiative launched on Friday, February 28, 2025, is being held at the Central Mosque of Briqueterie in Yaounde and will take place every Friday throughout the fasting month. This is in line with the government's efforts to combat the high cost of living, amid an inflationary context. To meet the needs of the blessed month of Ramadan, Minister Luc Magloire Atangana Mbarga officially launched a special sales campaign for fast-moving consumer goods . The aim of this campaign is to offer consumers essential products at very competitive prices. Featured products include staple foods such as rice, available in various varieties and origins, at prices significantly lower than those usually practiced in markets; as well as refined oils, flour, and sugar," the Ministry of Commerce states. Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana's services specify that this promotional sale is not limited to Yaounde but is also taking place in other localities across the national territory, thus allowing a greater number of citizens to benefit from these advantageous offers. The Ministry of Commerce emphasizes that this initiative is part of a series of actions aimed at making the cost of living more affordable for the population and supporting families during this period of devotion and sharing. This Ramadan period is often a source of economic hardship, particularly for low-income households, which see their food expenses increase. This is why the government deemed it necessary to organize promotional sales in various cities nationwide
