This decline is attributed to persistent operational and logistical constraints at the Owendo port at the end of 2024, exacerbated by a social movement. This underperformance had no impact on the financial side. The sector's revenue surged by 20.4% to 185.3 billion CFA francs as of March 2025, compared to 153.9 billion a year earlier. This increase was driven by higher selling prices (85,983 CFA francs per ton, up 10.5%) and growing exports, which rose from 1.979 to 2.142 million tons (+8.2%). On a quarterly basis, the trend reverses. Production jumped 20% from the fourth quarter of 2024 (1.894 million tons), driven by a rebound in global demand, particularly from the steel industry in China (+1%) and India (+8%)This financial performance is notable, especially considering the Gabonese government's ambitions to boost manganese production to 11.08 million tons in 2025, representing a 7.7% increase from 2024
