In addition, it is planned to install smart meters for managing flows on low-voltage substations and public lighting networks. To date, the contracts for the supply and installation of metering points in administrative buildings and those related to flow management have been fully launched.According to the electricity distributor in Cameroon ENEO, the new devices will enable better control over energy consumption in administrative buildings. The recovery plan for Cameroon's electricity sector was designed by sector stakeholders with the aim of developing transmission networks, whose source substations are the most critical nodes in the distribution networks, and modernizing commercialization tools, including metering systems.

Metering points are indeed useful for knowing precisely what is connected in a sector, who is connected, and who consumes what?.The Minister of Water and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba admitted to Parliament that the State owes approximately 120 billion to Eneo. Furthermore, he indicated that the energy distributor owes the State of Cameroon around 4 billion CFA francs.
