Decentralization : Over CFA 21 Billion Transferred For The Maintenance Of Regional Roads Between 2023 and 2025.

These funds come from the Road Fund and the Public Investment Budget (BIP) of the Ministry of Public Works (Mintp). It is planned that these transfers of resources will be used to finance the maintenance work of the country's regional roads, totaling 2,656.7 kilometers and a linear meter of 334 meters of works.In detail, the North-West Regional Council received the largest envelope during this period. The Ministry of Public Works (Mintp) transferred 3.15 billion FCFA for the maintenance of the road network in this region, which has been experiencing a security crisis since at least 2017. The South-West, the other crisis region in the country, benefited from an envelope of 1.87 billion FCFA for the maintenance of regional roads. During the same period, the regional councils of the West, North, South, and Center benefited from a significant share of the global envelope. The Western Regional Council received 2.5 billion FCFA, while those of the North, South, and Center received 2.4 billion FCFA, 2.37 billion FCFA, and 2.29 billion FCFA, respectively. Additionally, the Eastern Regional Council received an envelope of 2.25 billion FCFA.At the end of this distribution, the Regional Council of the Far North received 1.3 billion FCFA in transferred resources. This region is immediately followed by Adamaoua, which received 1.5 billion FCFA, and the Littoral, which benefited from 1.6 billion FCFA.
