The municipal receiver's management account for 2024 shows recovered revenues of 1 billion 398 million CFA, far exceeding initial forecasts, while expenses amounted to 1 billion 162 million CFA. This performance demonstrates that the commune of Batouri is now capable of living off its own resources, without relying exclusively on external support, a significant step forward for local development.Under the leadership of Mayor Auberlin Mbelessa, the commune has experienced dynamic management, accompanied by a well-established administrative structure. Batouri, which is home to over 100,000 inhabitants, has a municipality structured into 7 services. The local administration employs 121 staff members, including 50 health agents, distributed across the various health centers in the commune. These agents, who are paid regularly, contribute to maintaining efficiency in public services. One of the major successes of 2024 was the rehabilitation of essential infrastructure. The public school in Nganganm was completely renovated and equipped with desks, while the rehabilitation of the Djengue agricultural track reached a rate of 80%. Drilling at the Batouri market and Aviation were also rehabilitated to 80%, contributing to improved access to drinking water for residents. Furthermore, secondary roads were developed to 80%, and public lighting was reinforced with the installation of 30 streetlights. These achievements, accompanied by the rehabilitation of the festival grounds and the center for the promotion of women and families, demonstrate the dynamism of municipal management. In terms of social policy and public health, Batouri has also emphasized initiatives for hygiene and sanitation, with awareness campaigns for households and vacation programs for young students. Mayor Auberlin Mbelessa has also established internal cohesion within his team, reinforcing the motivation of municipal staff, who receive an average salary of 10 million CFA per month. The public-private partnership established by the Mayor has enabled the financing of several large-scale projects, notably within the framework of the Batouri, Green and Smart City project, which includes the rehabilitation of the municipal lake. These efforts have been supported by close collaboration with departmental authorities and state engineers, enabling the commune to benefit from funding for its development.Despite these remarkable achievements, certain challenges remain. One of the identified weaknesses is the lack of equipment and trucks to reinforce the hygiene service, a problem that limits the effectiveness of certain actions. Additionally financial difficulties persist, although the commune has demonstrated its ability to achieve exceptional results in terms of management. To ensure sustainable autonomy for Batouri, it is suggested to focus on creating revenue-generating activities, in order to diversify funding sources and ensure long-term economic stability. The year 2024 was a major turning point for the commune of Batouri, thanks to proactive management, strong leadership, and concrete achievements that have greatly contributed to improving the living conditions of citizens. Mayor Auberlin Mbelessa, through his vision and commitment, has enabled the commune to not only meet but surpass its financial objectives, while driving ambitious development projects. Batouri is now a model of local management, committed to a prosperous and autonomous future
