According to the German Cooperation, this project is funded with 5 billion Euro , equivalent to approximately 3,2 billion Fcfa . Agro-food systems have a critical role to play in delivering sustainable food Security, providing food for all without compromising the planet's natural resources,biodiversity and ecological thresholds.However it is acknowledged that agro-food systems are falling short of this goal as they exert substantial negative pressures on the climate and the environment.Cameroon is implementing various reforms to boost sustainable agriculture.Notably : The seed law adopted in July 2022, the organic agriculture law validated in December 2023 .These initiatives are crucial to addressing rural challenges and implementing the recommendations outlined in the sustainable food systems. The project further supports market development through national and international markets, leveraging a quality control system to ensure sustainable agricultural products meet standards.Additionally , financing will be channeled through micro finance institutions , increasing access to affordable competitive agricultural credit for marginalized groups .To recall that, the agricultural sector in Cameroon feeds over 1000 families , and employs over 30% of the population :particularly in rural areas , who are facing challenges to access finance for their farming activities. Agricultural also accounts for 20% of the country's Gross Domestic Products.
