In Cameroon, oil company taxation is expected to generate $245 million in revenue for the year 2025.These tax revenues will be added to the revenue from the sale of oil and natural gas made by the country to constitute a projected total of 734,8 billion CFA francs for 2025 as oil revenue.Cameroon's projected oil revenues for 2025 have decreased by 66.8 billion CFA francs compared to 2024.The government attributes this decrease to the decline in global oil prices, coupled with the weakening of the US dollar against the CFA franc.Tax receipts from oil operations are down due to falling production and crude oil costs. The drop in production underscores the importance of diversifying the economy.Despite this situation, Cameroon remains determined to boost its oil sector. Reforms are being considered to maximize gains from its natural resources, particularly by modernizing extraction infrastructure and strengthening cooperation with foreign investors.
