From June 2025, 40 electric motorcycles, each equipped with four batteries, will be deployed in Douala, Yaounde, Bertoua, and Bafoussam (10 motorcycles per city). Each motorcycle, estimated to cost 600,000 FCFA, will have two batteries in use and two others charging in cabins installed at TotalEnergies and Ola Energy. The project benefits from the support of automobile concessionaire 3S Motors, TotalEnergies, and the Cameroonian government. The 2025 finance law exempts electric vehicles from excise duties (previously 12.5%) and grants a 50% reduction on the taxable value of new electric motorcycles, batteries, and charging stations for 24 months. The switch from thermal to electric motorcycles in Cameroon presents significant economic benefits for drivers. A thermal motorcycle driver spending 6,000 FCFA per day on fuel would consume approximately 8.4 liters of gasoline daily. By adopting an electric motorcycle, daily fuel costs would be reduced to around 1,600 FCFA, saving 4,400 FCFA per day. On a monthly basis of 26 working days, this represents a saving of 114,400 FCFA. The absence of a combustion engine in electric motorcycles eliminates the need for oil changes, resulting in additional savings of 8,000 to 12,000 FCFA per month. This system will also allow for lower transportation tariffs for users and contribute to the fight against pollution. After Cameroon, Bee Group plans to extend its project to other African countries, promoting technological innovation and local job creation
