The Ministry of Public Works reports another milestone: the completion of the Afamba River bridge construction, clearing the way for project completion in the near future. The project's progress rate reaches 41% as of February 13, 2025, with the completion of the Afamba bridge and increased bitumen-coated roads. CFHEC is currently working on urban sections in Soa and Esse cities.Despite the constraints, the teams on the ground seem determined to deliver the Esse-Soa section within a few weeks. The company has strengthened its teams and consequently accelerated the pace of work in the city of Soa, where the construction of the large culvert is complete, while its teams have started work on the culvert located at kilometer point 46+677.The bitumen coating of the 82 km long Awae-Esse-Soa road in the Central region is a real challenge for the government. The construction works of the Awae-Esse-Soa road, once completed, will play a dual role. From the East region, the road appears as a loop, allowing users heading to the West to bypass the traffic jams in downtown Yaounde. For the riparian populations, heavily involved in agricultural production, the Awae-Esse-Soa road will enable the opening up of the basin, and therefore, the flow of production to major urban centers.
