The Port of Kribi currently does not have a mineral terminal. However, the General Manager of the Kribi Autonomous Port has assured that the multipurpose terminal is ready to receive its first shipments of minerals.According to a statement from the Kribi Autonomous Port, 500,000 cubic meters of raw iron ore are already stockpiled on site, and the first shipment of iron concentrate is expected to be made within six months through the Port of Kribi.The Grand Zambi iron mines, operated by Akom 2, are exploited by G-Stones Resources S.A, a company created with the acquisition of an exploitation permit for the Bipindi and Akom 2 mineral fields.G-Stones Resources S.A is a Cameroonian company and a subsidiary of the Bocom Group. In Grand Zambi, G-Stones Resources S.A holds a 14-year exploitation permit covering an area of 47 square kilometers.This has enabled the two parties: Port of Kribi and G-stone S.A ,to agree on a partnership for the handling of three to four boats per month. The construction project of the future mineral terminal is on track and will enhance the reception capacities of the Port of Kribi," according to the Kribi Autonomous Port.
