The rehabilitation works will include renovating the road surface, repairing or replacing damaged bridges and culverts, and improving lighting and road signage. The regional road, approximately 30 kilometers long, connecting the capital Yaoundé to the town of Mfou, is expected to undergo partial rehabilitation this year. This is one of the projects included in the public investment budget (BIP) of the Centre Regional Council for the 2025 fiscal year. The budget allocation for this project is approximately 500 million FCFA.The construction work is scheduled to begin in March and is expected to be completed by September. In recent years, this road, which connects the capital to the town of Mfou in the Mefou-et-Afamba department, has deteriorated significantly, much to the dismay of frequent users. It is worth noting that the partial rehabilitation project of this regional road was already included in the 2024 project journal of the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development. The allocated funds for these works were 255 million FCFA for the first lot, with an additional 22 million FCFA for surveillance and control. This envelope was provided for in the general decentralization allocation.
