Promotional sale of essential foodstuffs: Exceptional Mobilization At The University Of Yaoundé 1.

The first stage of this initiative, launched following the high instructions of the Head of State, took place at the University of Yaoundé I.The Ministry of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana ,continued its special operation of selling essential products on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Yaoundé , At the University of Yaoundé I, the first stop of the day, there was an exceptional mobilization.Over 1,000 50 kg bags of rice were sold at a price of 15,000 FCFA per 50 kg bag. The university community and surrounding populations massively stocked up, the Ministry of Commerce indicated.The promotional offer was not limited to rice. Food pasta (250g for 200 FCFA instead of 250 FCFA) and refined Diamaor oil (1250 FCFA per liter compared to 1400 FCFA on the market) were also offered at particularly attractive prices, it is learned.This initiative by the Minister of Commerce,falls within the framework of the head of state, President Paul Biya, to fight against high living cost of basic necessities in the country, seriously affecting the population. A bag of rice now a days cost approximately 25000 FCFA , a price which is not affordable by every Cameroonian.This promotional sale organised by the Minister of Commerce which started in December 2024 , is a tool by the government to fight against high living cost, and maintain a good living conditions for its population.
