Long-awaited by the people of the South for years,the Ebolowa-Akom II-Kribi road is set to complete the Kribi-Congo border corridor via Sangmelima. With the State having already financed the 74 km Sangmelima-Mengong road, the Ebolowa-Akom II-Kribi road will connect Ebolowa to Sangmelima, facilitating the transit of forestry resources from Congo to Kribi port.As per the contract, the Ebolowa-Akom II-Kribi road project is scheduled to take 36 months to complete, with a total cost of 122.4 billion FCFA, all taxes included.The Ebolowa-Akom II-Kribi road construction project is a commitment made by the Head of State to the Southern region's population during the 2011 Agro-Pastoral Festival
