This one-month extension, announced by Minister of Finance Louis Paul Motaze, aims to give taxpayers sufficient time to fulfill their tax obligations and avoid potential penaltiesThe deadline extension should also enable the tax authorities to maximize revenue collection from these taxpayers. Indeed, Cameroon has seen a significant growth in the number of professional taxpayers, increasing from 25,000 in 2010 to 400,000 in 2024, representing a 1,500% rise over 14 years, according to data from the General Tax Directorate .According to the General Tax Directorate , schedule, tax returns for large enterprises  medium-sized business tax centers and specialized tax centers will follow those of high-ranking officials and employees, with a one-month interval, before non-residents and other individuals conclude the process. Cameroon did not meet its tax revenue targets in the first quarter of 2025. The Economic and Budget Programming Document 2026-2028 indicates that 989.6 billion FCFA was mobilized out of a target of 1,112.3 billion FCFA, resulting in a shortfall of 120.7 billion FCFA. The IRPP contributed to this deficit, missing its target by 3.7 billion FCFA out of the expected 109.4 billion. The Minister of Finance  Louis Paul Motaze revealed that only 15 billion FCFA was mobilized in terms of IRPP in 2024, far from the target of 25 billion FCFA, resulting in a shortfall of 10 billion FCFA. To reverse this trend, the tax authority introduced pre-filled tax returns in 2025, a measure aimed at simplifying the process and improving individual compliance. This initiative aims to enhance tax compliance and improve revenue collection in Cameroon
