The hosting communities also face added strain on resources that are already scarce in the affected areas. In response to this situation, the United Nations and other humanitarian partners have launched a 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan to assist 2.1 million of the most vulnerable people. This plan requires $359.3 million to save lives, protect the most vulnerable, restore their dignity, and support their livelihoods. To date, less than 15% of the necessary funds have been mobilized, which threatens vital programs such as healthcare, food aid, and the provision of basic services. Faced with this constraint, humanitarian partners have had to make difficult choices and conduct a needs re-prioritization exercise. Impossible choices had to be made, and unfortunately, some vital activities had to be suspended. Despite the challenges, more than a hundred humanitarian organizations remain mobilized and have assisted over 378,000 of the most vulnerable people in the first half of the year
