This provisional budget will ensure the financing of essential expenses for the continuity of government services until the entry into force of the Finance Act for the financial year 2025.This provisional budget, which comes into effect just days before the inauguration of the newly elected president, PR John Dramani Mahama ,will prevent budgetary disruptions since the Finance Act for the fiscal year starting January 1, 2025, will not be immediately implemented.The newly elected president has presented a program based on structural reforms to boost the economy while addressing the concerns of the Ghanaian population.Ghana has faced economic difficulties marked by persistent high inflation, which stood at 23% in November 2024. The unemployment rate was estimated at 3.1% in 2023. Public debt has increased significantly due to budgetary measures adopted, leading to a situation of over-indebtedness.According to the World Bank, Ghana has made significant adjustments to its macroeconomic policy, including a comprehensive debt restructuring and rigorous budget consolidation.
