The financing comes at a time when access to reliable electricity remains a major obstacle for African businesses. With its model, CrossBoundary Energy (CBE) offers flexible power purchase agreements that enable local companies to access stable and clean energy without bearing the upfront investment costs. The company is notably building a solar power plant with storage, providing baseload electricity to the Kamoa-Kakula copper mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The announcement comes after several recent financings mobilized by CrossBoundary Energy (CBE). Earlier this year, Norfund doubled its investment, bringing its commitment to the company to $80 million. In late 2024, CBE also raised $140 million in senior debt from Standard Bank, representing the first tranche of a global mandate of $300 million. The World Bank, through its Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), recently granted a $495 million guarantee framework to protect CBE's assets against transfer and convertibility risks. With the entry of Impact Fund Denmark (IFDK), the company solidifies its position among the leading independent renewable electricity producers on the continent, at a time when industrial demand for clean and reliable energy solutions continues to grow. This investment will enable CBE to expand its decentralized renewable energy solutions across the continent, addressing Africa's growing energy challenges
