Between 2018 and 2025, the Ministry of Public Works (Mintp) transferred a total amount of 29 billion FCFA to the communes of the eight departments of the West Region. These funds come from the Road Fund and the Public Investment Budget (BIP) of the Mintp. They are used to finance the maintenance work of the communal roads in the region. In detail, the commune of Bafoussam III, in the department of Mifi, received the largest allocation with 642 million FCFA. It is followed by the commune of Banka in the department of Haut-Nkam with 485.9 million FCFA. During the same eight-year period, the communes of Dschang, Fongo-Tongo, Fokoué, in the department of Menoua, respectively received 233.4 million FCFA, 318.9 million FCFA, and 259.4 million FCFA. The smallest allocation is granted to the commune of Njimoun de Koutaba in the department of Noun, with an amount of 136.4 million FCFA. The resources thus transferred to the communes participate not only in the implementation of the decentralization process but also in empowering the communal executives in the execution of infrastructure projects
