Based on this forecast, and considering the commercialized production of 266,725 tons announced by the National Office of Cocoa and Coffee at the end of the 2023-2024 cocoa season, Cameroon's cocoa bean production at the end of the 2024-2025 campaign is expected to increase by approximately 17,870 tons.
Fitch Solutions forecasts Cameroon's cocoa production to rise by 6.7% in 2025, according to a February 2025 report. This would bring production to around 284,595 tons, nearing the record highs of 292,472 tons and 295,164 tons achieved in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons, respectively. The expected increase in Cameroon's cocoa production for the 2024-2025 season is driven by a significant rise in producer prices, which reached a record 6,000 FCFA per kilogram in some production areas, motivating cocoa farmers to boost production. The projected rise in cocoa production should boost Cameroon's export earnings, with cocoa being one of the country's key export commodities.End of 2023, the country exported over 180,000 tonnes of raw cocoa beans, generating revenue of nearly 360 billion FCFA, according to the report on Cameroon's external trade published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).The development of industrial processing units in Cameroon in recent years has enabled the country to export 49,411 tonnes and 23,825 tonnes of cocoa paste and butter, respectively. These exports generated export earnings of 97.4 billion FCFA and 55.5 billion FCFA, according to the report by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). These figures demonstrate the importance of the cocoa sector to the Cameroonian economy, which is one of the main cocoa producers in Central Africa. The local processing of cocoa enables Cameroon to diversify its exports and increase the revenue generated by this sector
