The meeting allowed the two personalities to discuss ongoing projects within the framework of economic cooperation between Cameroon and Great Britain, particularly in the infrastructure sector. They explored measures to accelerate the implementation of projects such as Ebolowa-Akom II-Kribi Road Project , the yaoundé-nsimalen highway urban section, the drinking water supply project in 13 Cameroonian cities. These projects align with Cameroon's strategic development goals SND 30 which prioritizes infrastructure development, energy, transportation, and agriculture. The collaboration with Great Britain demonstrates a shared commitment to driving economic growth and improving living standards in Cameroon.The meeting also provided an opportunity for Alamine OUSMANE MEY and his guest to discuss preparations on the Cameroonian side for the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), scheduled to take place from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Brazil. The goal was to explore ways for Cameroon, as one of the countries in the Congo Basin, to tap into green funds, thereby securing substantial financing for climate change mitigation and adaptation policies.In 2019, the United Kingdom has ranked 11th among Cameroon's export markets, accounting for 2.1% of total exports, and 18th among Cameroon's suppliers, accounting for 1.4% of total imports.The trade value between Cameroon and the United Kingdom peaked at 800 million pounds sterling, approximately 600 billion CFA francs, in 2022.According to available data, the trade exchange between the two countries was around 263 million dollars (145 billion CFA francs), with the UK largely supplying Cameroon with manufactured goods, machinery, and pharmaceuticals.
