The project will be funded by 99.85 billion CFA francs from the Central African States Development Bank (BDEAC) and 42.7 billion CFA francs from the Cameroonian government. The initiative involves constructing two key road sections: a 122 km stretch between Abong-Mbang and Lomié in the East region, and a 42 km stretch between Carrefour Biyebe (Meyomessala) and Bengbis in the South region. According to the Cameroonian government, these roads will establish vital connections between southeastern Cameroon and major corridors to the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic, via the Sangmélima-Ouesso and Abong-Mbang-Garoua-Boulai routes. The project encompasses the construction of social infrastructure, including schools, health centers, water supply points, electrification systems, eight bridges, 40 km of urban roads, and six water boreholes. Around 100 households will gain access to electricity. Additionally, the project includes completing technical studies for the asphalt surfacing of other road sections, such as Lomié-Mintom and Messamena-Somalomo-Bengbis.This comprehensive project, spanning 48 months, is an integral part of the Dja Mining Loop Integrated Development and Planning Program ,initiated in 2014. The program's primary objective is to open up and foster integrated development in the rural areas of southern and eastern Cameroon.
