This agreement,is the culmination of a process initiated in February 2024 and formalized by the signing of a memorandum of understanding on May 16, 2024. The new partners have set the deadline for the start of work for mid-January 2025 on this axis connecting the coastal and south-west regions. The project involves rebuilding over 80 kilometers of road. Additionally, two interchanges will be rehabilitated, one connecting the town of Mutengene to Buea and the other linking the port of Tiko to Mutengene. The company will also be required to carry out related development work, including water supply systems, classrooms, and market stalls, as well as the development of access to the port of Kribi. Road construction sites in Cameroon remain vast. The Minister of Public Works indicated in September 2024 that more than 60 construction and rehabilitation projects are underway, and others are expected to be launched in 2025. This project aims to boost economic and social development in these regions. The Bekoko-Limbe-Idenau rehabilitation project,  in line with the national development plan, aims to strengthen and facilitate the movement of people and the transportation of goods within and out of the regions.
