On December 12, 2024, a new impetus was given to the bilateral agreement on air services between Cameroon and Ethiopia during an audience held in Yaounde between the Minister of Transport Masséna Ngalle Bibéhè and the Ethiopian Ambassador to Cameroon Shitaye Minale Tizazu.Cameroon and Ethiopia have a long-standing cooperation in the air transport sector. This collaboration is further strengthened with Cameroon's goal of opening long-haul routes to other countries.
Dans ce cadre, Ethiopian Airlines devrait apporter son soutien pour aider le transport national aérien du Cameroun à se positionner sur ces liaisons d'expansion.In this context, Ethiopian Airlines is expected to provide support to help Cameroon's national air transport position itself on these expansion routes.This move is part of the commercial dynamic between Cameroon and other countries like Canada, a country that has become an increasingly popular destination for Cameroonians.Ethiopian Airlines operates 7 weekly flights to and from Cameroon's economic capital. And in the same vein, the company announced in June 2024 it's ambition to increase its flights from 7 to 11, representing a 40% increase in relative flight value.Ethiopian Airlines is a major rival to European carriers in Cameroon.
