Kribi Port : Traffic increases to 12.7 million tons in 2024
Dernière mise à jours il y'a 7 moisThis growth is attributed to higher port fees and charges driven by increased cargo volumes. The Port Authority of Kribi expects further growth in performance indicators starting in 2025, following the commissioning of Kribi's second container terminal on May 9, 2025.
The financial statements of the Kribi Autonomous Port (KAP), presented on June 27, 2025, during an ordinary general meeting of this public company responsible for managing the deep-water port of Kribi, reveal a 2 million ton increase in traffic in 2024.Indeed, the volume of goods handled at this port platform in 2024 reached 12.7 million tons, up from 10.7 million tons in 2023. This increase in traffic has likely contributed to the port's revenue growth, as mentioned in the previous article. The Kribi Autonomous Port continues to play a vital role in Cameroon's economy, handling a significant volume of the country's imports and exports. Traffic at the port has increased to 12.7 million tons in 2024 generates revenue of 35.3 billion FCFA, up 24%. The increase in port fees and other charges, resulting from this traffic growth, enabled the Kribi Autonomous Port (KAP) to close the 2024 financial year with a net profit of over 3.4 billion CFA francs and a turnover of 35.3 billion CFA francs. The latter indicator is up 24% compared to the previous year's turnover of 27 billion CFA francs.
All these performance indicators are expected to rise sharply from 2025 onwards, thanks to the commissioning on May 9, 2025, of the second container terminal at the Kribi deep-water port. This new infrastructure, on which the shipping line MSC has positioned its largest container ships as part of its Africa Express maritime line linking Asia to West Africa, allows the container handling capacity to triple from 300,000 to around one million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units). The commissioning of the second container terminal is a significant development for the Kribi port, enhancing its capacity to handle larger volumes of cargo and solidifying its position as a major hub in Central Africa.

Actually, now that I try out the links on my message, above, none of them take me to the secure site. Only my shortcut on my desktop, which I created years ago.
