Infrastructure : Bamenda Urban Crossing Surpasses 26% Completion Rate
Dernière mise à jours il y'a 1 heuresThe modernization project for urban roads in the regional capital of the North-West maintains its operational rhythm. Despite a challenging climatic environment marked by regular rainfall, the teams from the Bun’s company remain mobilized on the ground. As of May 2, 2026, the development of this structural axis into a dual carriageway shows an overall execution rate of 26.09%, testifying to the real progress across various work categories.

The clearing of the right-of-way is now practically finalized, covering 5.5 kilometers of the planned 6.5. This essential stage allows for the acceleration of general earthworks, which have already been completed over a distance of 4.4 kilometers. On a technical level, the structure of the future roadway is taking shape with precision: the sub-base extends over nearly 2 kilometers, while the road platform is ready over a linear distance of 2.1 kilometers. This progress occurs in a complex context where soil saturation from rain demands increased technical vigilance from the engineers.
The drainage component, the guarantor of the structure's longevity, is also recording notable performance. Precasting units are operating at full capacity, allowing for the completion of 10 major hydraulic structures at the beginning of the month. Simultaneously, the installation of gutters is progressing with more than 3,300 linear meters already laid out of the 4,500 meters produced. This acceleration in the implementation of drainage networks is vital for protecting the earthworks against seasonal erosion risks.
Finally, the clearing of the transit corridor continues with the effective relocation of half of the public utility networks. This coordination between concessionaires and the contracting authority aims to limit service interruptions for local populations while securing the deployment of machinery. The transformation of Bamenda into an urban hub equipped with modern transport axes remains a priority to streamline traffic and boost economic exchanges within the region.

Actually, now that I try out the links on my message, above, none of them take me to the secure site. Only my shortcut on my desktop, which I created years ago.
