This involves a loan agreement worth 99.850 billion FCFA between the State of Cameroon and the BDEAC, and an interest subsidy convention linked to this loan using resources from the Community Development Fund  signed between the State of Cameroon, the CEMAC Commission and the BDEAC. This infrastructure development project is expected to have a positive impact on the regions, improving road connectivity, facilitating economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for the local populations .By agreeing to finance these projects, which are in line with the orientations of its Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2027, the BDEAC, through its President, said it was seduced by the maturity level of the projects, the impact of these projects at the national and sub-regional level, and the determination of the Cameroonian Government to see these initiatives come to fruition, particularly with the mobilization of significant resources in the state budget for the anticipated asphalt paving of an 18 km section of the Ekong-Biyebe road on the Ekong-Bengbis stretch. These projects are taking place in a context where Cameroon is accelerating its entry into the circle of countries exploiting their rich mining potential. Specifically, the projects involve the construction of major road infrastructure, namely the Abong-Mbang-Lomié stretch (122 km) and the Biyebe-Bengbis stretch (42 km). Beyond the main infrastructure, these projects also include the development of numerous ancillary infrastructure essential to the well-being of local communities, such as the construction of health centers, wells, and schools; the asphalt paving of urban roads in certain localities; and support for agricultural cooperatives to boost the local economy. The project for the asphalt paving of the Abong-Mbang-Lomié and Ekong-Bengbis roads amounts to a total of 142.594 billion FCFA, with 99.850 billion FCFA supported by the BDEAC and 42.744 billion FCFA as a contribution from the State of Cameroon. These funds also include the completion of studies for the asphalt paving of the Lomié-Mintom and Messamena-Somalomo-Bengbis roads, thereby opening the way for even more extensive connectivity with the Central African Republic and Congo, via the Sangmélima-Ouesso and Abong-Mbang-Garoua-Boulaï corridors. This would strengthen the dynamics of sub-regional integration in Central Africa
