This reflects the continued upward trend in cocoa prices in Cameroon since the launch of the new 2024-2025 cocoa season. This upward trend is such that some producers were even able to negotiate the kilogram at 5,035 FCFA on February 10, during a group sale operation in Abong-Mbang, in the East region of the country, thus setting a record since the beginning of the current campaign. However, this price is still far below the record of 6,000 FCFA per kilogram set in the country during the 2023-2024 cocoa season. In Cameroon, the liberalization of the cocoa market has played a crucial role in this price dynamic, making the country the champion of producer remuneration. Indeed, thanks to various mechanisms put in place by both the public authorities and the corporation itself, cocoa producers in Cameroon are four to five times better paid than those in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana, the world's two largest cocoa producers
